Stage 1. Discovery and Research

The trading platform had several limitations that restricted feature growth and created inconsistent user experiences across web and mobile.

Research insights included:

  • Lack of synchronisation between mobile and web resulted in inconsistent management of investments.

  • The platform catered mainly to experienced traders, limiting accessibility for beginners.

  • 52% of investors wanted more portfolio personalisation.

  • 83% of investors valued a seamless cross-device experience.

  • Beginners relied heavily on social sentiment, while experienced traders preferred detailed analytics.

These findings highlighted the need for a user-centric platform that balanced advanced features with accessibility.

Stage 2. Problem Definition and Goals

Key objectives were defined to address user needs and market gaps:

  • Adapt the platform for both beginners and experienced investors.

  • Provide a consistent brand experience across mobile, web, and tablet.

  • Introduce new features without creating complexity.

  • Add educational and community features to engage traders at all levels.

  • Ensure high accessibility standards aligned with WCAG AAA guidelines.

Stage 3. Information Architecture and Design

The platform structure was redesigned to make navigation intuitive while supporting complex data needs.

  • Wireframing and Prototyping: Low-fidelity wireframes tested flows quickly, then evolved into high-fidelity prototypes for usability testing.

  • Customisable Dashboard: Modular widgets for real-time graphs, notifications, and posts.

  • Light and Dark Modes: Adaptable for different conditions and user preferences.

  • Social and Community Features: Following traders, discussions, messaging, and shared insights.

  • The Academy: A structured learning hub with training, challenges, and certifications.

  • Financial Tools: Designed with experts for accurate, actionable insights.
