Zonal simplifies restaurant operations by unifying menu management, seating, and staff management across multiple integrated portals. The goal was to create a responsive, accessible, and scalable platform that supported thousands of users and met strict accessibility standards.

Stage 2. Challenges

  • Large Data Sets: The platform had to handle and display significant amounts of operational data across portals. Users required advanced filtering, streamlined navigation, and quick editing capabilities.

  • Responsive and Accessible Design: Interfaces needed to work across desktop and tablet while meeting accessibility guidelines.

  • Cross-Integration: The platform had to support seamless communication between portals such as Choices (menu creation) and POS systems, ensuring real-time consistency.

  • Efficient Data Management: Designed advanced filtering tools and split-screen navigation, allowing users to browse large datasets and edit rows without losing context.

  • Responsive and Accessible Design: Implemented a responsive framework and full WCAG AAA compliance, including screen reader support and keyboard navigation.

  • Design System: Built a robust system with hundreds of reusable components and states, ensuring consistency and scalability across all portals.

My role included building the design system, integrating CMS, POS, employee management, and menu portals, and ensuring accessibility compliance. Through extensive testing and collaboration with stakeholders, I delivered a responsive, consistent, and scalable platform that transformed operational efficiency for large hospitality clients.
